Job Description

Opening for an end-to-end power and performance validation and optimization lead engineer for Intel client products; as a PnP Lead, you will be responsible for a product (Client, Datacenter or AI) to achieve or beat its power and performance goals. The includes understanding (SOC) characterization, power and performance optimization in addition to the responsibility for identifying opportunities, drive optimization, improvements through analysis of workloads and silicon behavior. The job requirements include but not limited to:-Understanding silicon parametrics across distributions (Vmins, Cdyn, leakage, transitor performance to name a few) and its impact on Product PnP-Understanding workloads and performance maximizing techniques for a constrained power envelope-System level understanding of power management flows at the hardware, firmware, and driver levels-In-depth level understanding of hardware power management such as P-states and C-states-Analysis of silicon power consumption versus pre-silicon expectations and drive resolution of issues towards higher battery life (client), higher perf at different utilization points (datacenter)-Keep a tab on power estimation/measurement methodology and continuously evolve with the new power optimization techniques. -Responsibility for SoC-level optimization under various usage scenarios-Close interface with architecture, design, and platform engineers-Contribute towards power management optimizations flows for future products


Qualifications

Required:
- Phd MS, BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Track record of practical problem solving and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and/or interaction skills
- Result oriented
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with CPU architecture
- Technical understanding of V/f curves, silicon parametrics,
- Work experience (5+) in the field of Power Perf or Power and Perf optimizations on a SoC
- Technical understanding of workloads, benchmarking , TDP power recipes in either client , datacenter space
