Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is currently seeking a Project Management Office (PMO) Manager to join our Power Systems Controls (PSC) team. This position may be based out of any Eaton US location or fully remote within the continental US. Position Overview: The PMO Manager will drive successful execution of projects across the US by leading a team of Project Managers and performing a Project Manager role for critical projects. Types of projects include engineering, procurement, installation, and testing for new and retrofit power management systems with automatic transfer schemes or generator paralleling controls. The PMO Manager will implement industry best practices for project management and represent PSC to support business process standardization within the EESS Engineering Center of Excellence. The successful candidate will have the experience and leadership to address current operational gaps and build scalable infrastructure to support this rapidly growing business. In addition, the PMO Manager will oversee the PSC business supply chain management function for products and third-party panel builders. In this function, you will: Lead the PMO, whose functions include: Qualified Project Managers to deliver awarded projects Technical coordination with engineers, field service, Eaton factories, and third parties Project controls support including cost and schedule baselines, tracking, forecasting, and change management Standardized reporting and program reviews Document control and distribution to customers and suppliers Supply chain management Perform as a Project Manager for critical projects and provide escalation support for the PM team Serve on the PSC leadership team, with a focus on structure and driving action items to closure Responsibility for profit, loss, and forecast for the Power Systems Controls data center program Select and hire resources for the PMO organization and provide resource management, mentorship, and development for direct reports Implement project management processes, standards, and tools for project execution Represent PSC to support business process standardization within the EESS Engineering Center of Excellence Build relationships with Eaton factories & departments to improve coordination for PSC projects Establish feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Minimum 10 years of project management and engineering experience Minimum of 2 years managing direct reports Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or MBA from an accredited institution Experience managing power distribution projects involving engineering, procurement, factory testing, installation, and commissioning Knowledge of low/medium voltage switchgear and automatic transfer schemes Position Success Criteria: Successfully complete and maintain compliance with the company’s safety program Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings The successful candidate must have a well-rounded knowledge of industry best practices for project management and project controls Experience building and growing a new organization through confident leadership High accountability to achieve targets and deliver results Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical Builds stakeholder and customer confidence through excellent presentation abilities Strong financial acumen and strategic mindset A proven track record of delivering large, complex projects Experience with factory testing and field commissioning for power distribution equipment Resource management, interviewing, performance evaluation, and mentoring skills Strong computer skills within the Microsoft Office suit (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.) Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $111,200-152,900, and is eligible for an annual performance-based incentive plan with a target at 15% of base salary.
