Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds Electrical division is currently seeking a 1st Shift Powerhouse Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, New York facility. In this function you will: Plan and perform all required operations to install, maintain and repair steam boilers, air compressors, pumps, motors, power generating equipment and pressurized piping systems including water, steam, oil, compressed air, natural gas as related to apparatus in the powerhouse. Tear down complicated units, determine extent of troubles, repair or replace defective parts or wiring and reassemble. Use hand tools and pipe fitting machinery to bend, thread and cut pipe; Use a torch to sweat copper joints and solder as required. Make up brackets, braces, hangers, etc. and perform necessary operations to secure and assure permanence of installed equipment. Install and maintain high pressure steam stations throughout the facility including steam lines, traps, strainers, regulators, valves and insulation etc. When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. #IND123 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution Journeymen or three (3) years of documented maintenance experience in an industrial electrical/mechanical trade Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Relocation is offered for those outside 50 miles of the location Preferred qualifications: Ability to problem solve and understand mechanical equipment Two year degree in mechanical field / Military trade or technical experience. Must be able to identify common symbols on mechanical drawings and follow both electrical and plumbing diagrams. Must be willing to respond to emergency calls at any time.
