With 130 members located in headquarter in Japan, the Procurement Daimler Trucks Asia team is one of the largest procurement organizations in the county.
The goal of the Procurement group in Japan is to achieve a benchmark material cost position and continuous supply at the highest quality level in close collaboration with the R&D, Production and Quality departments.

■Your mission
Driven by the vision of creating the benchmark Supplier Networks and Supply chain solutions, we at TP/G (Truck and Bus Procurement) work closely with innovative suppliers to bring the next generation of technology within our products. Our key contribution includes working towards sustainable cost efficiency to provide a competitive edge to our products and businesses.


■ Your challenge and development
1. You will have continuous interaction with your colleagues and business partners from India, Indonesia, Germany, USA, Brazil, China and Turkey in other procurement units in Daimler trucks!
2. You will work towards scouting for new-suppliers within the emerging markets like China, Korea, India, Taiwan etc. to challenge the competitiveness of your incumbent suppliers.
3. You will work collaboratively with people from other departments and bring our ideas to reality.
4. You will work with clear savings targets and precise project timelines.
5. You are the captain of your own ship! You decide how you want to collaborate with other teams and chart the plan for your initiatives.


■ Your responsibilities
0. As a buyer within Powertrain procurement, you will drive your commodities towards a sustainable supply solution that fulfils the requirements of Cost, Quality and Delivery.
1. To negotiate with suppliers based in Japan and other markets to ensure benchmark Cost, Quality and Delivery.
2. To scout for new-suppliers and technology to challenge the competitiveness of your incumbent suppliers.
3. To collaborate with people from other departments and bring cost reduction ideas to reality.
4. To work with clear target-cost and precise project timelines; and ensure that you meet them for New Product Projects.
