· The job vacancies are associated to the field of powertrain development, the following tasks:
Worldwide series support of the Daimler 4-cylinder gasoline engine variants
Derivative calibration of specific vehicle variants
Analysis of market-specific requirements for engine & transmission calibration
Localization of engine and E/E components, supplier coordination and development support of the local vehicle & engine plants
Monitoring / validation of locally produced engine parts according to Daimler quality standards and calibration-neutral functionality
Technical assistance and support of the local BBAC vehicle production
Engine endurance testing
Project coordination and quality
Homologation and certification support for imported and locally produced car lines
Analysis of customer behavior to ensure the market orientation of the Mercedes powertrain
The responsibility for powertrain derivative calibration within RD C/PT has been expanded. The calibration area is clustered in two team (engine calibration 1&2), which are responsible for the worldwide life cycle management of the M270 and M264 powertrain variants, as well as the calibration of one new Daimler 4-cylinder gasoline engine derivatives. Therefor local development know-how, specifically for base engine combustion, emissions, OBD, drivability and transmission calibration is required.


· Tasks:
You will work in the powertrain calibration (2) team (consisting of Chinese and Expat engineers) and you will have the following core tasks:
Expert with the focus on vehicle drivability, to support the M270 DCT / M264 NAG3 powertrain projects
Drivability development of an M264 NAG3 powertrain variants.
Calibration and release responsibility of specific vehicle drivability functions.
Vehicle and drivability evaluation according Daimler development standards
Result evaluation and presentation to the team as well as the Daimler management.
Independent organization of daily task and proper documentation of work progress utilizing the Daimler calibration tools
Support of test trips in China and worldwide to calibrate and evaluate the vehicle drivability under multiple climate conditions.
