BTV Localization of Engine, Transmission or Drivetrain
- Achievement of project milestones for responsible parts on time
- Ensuring and testing of localization concepts for the industrialization of the powertrain components by taking into account the aspects of technical complexity, technology availability in China, as well as costs and deadlines.
- Support sourcing process by evaluating supplier engineering and testing capabilities, localization concept, PV-test plan, component project schedule during TR, SV, PA
- Evaluate and align localization concept with RD/PM counterpart
- Prepare and align PV plan with RD/P or RD/Ecounterpart
- Track progress in regular meetings with supplier; risk evaluation, identify critical issues and initiate countermeasure; report to commodity, escalate in critical cases to supervisor
- Track and check component testing; evaluate results and provide summary/release documentation
- Support endurance testing; take responsibility for analysing and solving of related issues/troubleshooting
- Evaluate resp. components after endurance run and provide report; in cases of deviations/abnormalties align with RD/PM counterpart, initiate countermeasure and provide detailed report
- Prepare resp. component release documentation
BTV Mechanics of Engine, Transmission or Drivetrain
- Know and check relevant functions and features of responsible components, know and check drawing content and refer to it during incoming part inspection
- Align collaboration and infromation sharing with relevant design counterpart; involve commodity/modul teams for interdisciplinar issues
- Work independently on your defined responsibilities, involve partners in time and share tasks according to relevant AKV; escalate to your supervisor in case project relevant targets are endangered
- Keep deadlines of Kontingent care, PiT engine BOM, aligned deadlines of round table, Fruehsitzung, endurance engine evaluation etc.
- Own engineering contribution
Life Cycle Management of Engine, Transmission or Drivetrain Components
- Monitor and analyse the life cycle issues in China for resp. parts
- Lead the issue resolution for China own part and report to China issue resolution team
- Communicate with German counterpart for evaluation or improvement
- Plan proper tests to validate if issue solved
- Participate in PF team meeting regularly
Other Tasks
- Optimization and standardization of existing processes, and the implementation of new processes in order to drive the Beijing site and generate efficiencies
- Technical RD contact for internal interfaces and our cooperation partner BBAC
- Collecting Chinese market information in terms of market requirements, resident suppliers and technologies Independent communication to teams and Daimler management in CN and GER
