To find out more about us check: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baa_aiJ4L7E The Electrical Systems & Solutions Business Unit, part of Critical Systems Division, location Hengelo, is looking for a: Pre-Order Electrical Services & Systems ESS EMEA Front-End Application Engineer (f/m) This position reports into the Teamleader Front-End Application Engineering & Technical Estimation team and is part of the ESS Electrical Services & Systems Business Unit organization. The incumbent provides design assistance, value engineering, product and segment (Datacenter, Utilities, Renewables, Oil &Gas, Industries) specific application support to the Eaton PDD Power Distribution Division “Projects, Orders and Quotations” (POQ) department, Country Sales Organizations (CSO’s), Engineering procurement and Construction EPCs, Consulting engineers and Channel partners in the territory/market for electro-technical installations and enhance the value generated for customers. Provides necessary safety precautions and calculations during Front-End Engineering and Design FEED, quotation and pre-order stage, in accordance with company guidelines and procedures, to reach a for all parties involved to an acceptable solution for complex technical issues. The Application Engineer can act as lead engineer for larger and complex projects in a wide range of support requests from EMEA & global level. Your main responsibilities: Determines, instructs and drives the technical quality and content of the quotation process. Reads, interprets and agrees on customer specifications in order to create a competitive Eaton solution verifying electrical, safety and control systems, SCADA and PLC software applications. Works with the teams to establish relationships with electrical consulting engineers, end users and design build contractors to promote the use of Eaton products and solutions in their specifications and projects. • Develops pipeline through demand creation at influencers. Participates & understands current market requirements from customers to drive product technical features leading to future New Product Development (Involve in Gate 0) and evaluates risks in the segments. Leads technical evaluation, feasibility, clarification and execution of multiple projects in parallel while meeting requested return dates of the quotation engineer/ project engineer. Analyses electrical and/or mechanical constraints by performing calculations and advises customers about possible technical solutions with regards to complete (company own or competitive) systems, in close co-operation with sales management in order to solve customer’s problems without endangering the company’s image or financial position. Advises on 3rd party or special equipment materials (material cost and labour/engineering efforts) in order to provide technical competitive solutions to quotation engineers. Writing technical RFQs for non-Eaton items that are part of a project and drive SCM for technical compliant bids. Writes consultant specification to drive Eaton's scope of work and also various kinds of technical and commercial documents with regard to design, testing, commissioning and delivery in line with general accepted standards in Engineering, in order to assure that the customer specifications are met. This also includes “Compliance, deviations, exceptions” statement with respect to customer project requirements. Administers all relevant information according to the company’s guidelines, in order to assure timely availability for management and colleagues. • Arranges clean hand over to Order Management and Manufacturing Engineering systems engineers to ensure technical compliance in order stage based on agreed customer solutions. Participates and engages with Application engineering Committee EMEA wide and improve standardization with the implementation of Digital Application Guides & SMART CDE's. Qualifications Your essential skills we are looking for: Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 3-5 years of working experience • Architecture & Technical knowledge regarding MV required, Power System Assemblies PSA including transformers/ generators, packaged substations. Segment insights & application, electrical and mechanical engineering, calculation, studies and manufacturing methods. Insights on commercial aspects of projects. • Strong organizational presentation, communication, time management skills and results driven. English language at advanced level, Dutch is not mandatory.
