Pre-Order ESS EMEA Teamleader Front-End Application Engineering This position reports into the Pre-Order Manager Business Support and is part of the ESS Divisional organization. The incumbent leads and develops a team of Front End Application Engineering, as well as functionally leading the Pune Technical Estimation Team with the prime responsibility to generate demand by organizing and continuously improving the team’s engineering support towards customers. The application engineers in the team gather customer requirements for new business opportunities and translate them to product propositions. Key for the team is understanding customer applications, initiating and maintaining engineering relationships with these customers as well as with internal teams to fulfil clients’ needs. The technical estimation team prepares preliminary configurations and compliance statements to increase efficiency of the Business Support quotation process. Your main duties: To lead, manage, inspire and motivate assigned team of professionals, according to Eaton Leadership Model requirements. Manages and develops pipeline through demand creation at influencers Manages and develops a team of Front End/ Field Application Engineers and remote technical estimation and support teams. Coordinates activities with remote teams to increase efficiency of the Business Support quotation process, assign tasks to Front End Application Engineers and Technical Estimation Team Works with the teams to establish relationships with electrical consulting engineers, end users and design build contractors to promote the use of Eaton products and solutions in their specifications and projects Leads the efforts of the team in relevant segments to fully understand the local electrical requirements and be personally involved in industry meetings and activities as required Drives Thought Leadership activities, including white papers, articles and seminars in the area to promote Eaton’s technical position Participates in planning efforts determining “Playing to Win” strategies in conjunction with BU Sales Leaders, representing technical ideas, solutions, and recommendations as required. Drives a culture of accountability and efficiency to maximize customer intimacy. Foster strong and effective relationships with internal and external customers Leads and participates in market analysis with Voice of customers to determine commercial viability of products & technical requirements leading to future New Product Development/Innovations (Involve in Gate 0) and evaluate risks in the segments. To stimulate change and improvement, assess proposals of subordinates as well as to propose change or improvement of processes to higher management To ensure timely and correct reporting to manager in accordance with applicable procedures and guidelines and ensure recording and traceability of data. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent. Master’s in Business Administration is an advantage. 3-5 years’ of experience in customer support / engineering / project management in a manufacturing environment. Preferably a background in the electrical industry. Proven managerial experience with co-located and remote teams is an advantage. Application knowledge of MV and LV electrical equipment (switchgears, MCCs, ATS, Network protection, power generation and controls) Leadership skills – according to Eaton Leadership Model – Transparent, Accountable, Passionate, Efficient, Learner and Ethical; Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
