Job Description
The position of Pricing Analyst will be a key member in the Pricing & Portfolio Management team reporting into the Senior Manager, Group Pricing. This position can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

The successful applicant will be supporting the Pricing Business Partner to provide product and pricing terms for a specified portfolio of clients by performing reviewing pricing and profit testing within agreed timelines. This will involve working closely with the Business Development and Strategic Partnership teams, Product and Actuarial team to deliver effective and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all pricing activities follow AIA Pricing Strategy, sign off & governance procedures across Actuarial, Product, Operations, Reinsurance and Group Office guidelines (where applicable)
  • For large key client accounts, conduct regular loss ratio analysis reviews to determine profitability and experience
  • For corporate clients, ensure terms being quoted on are consistent with Risk Preference Statement and support installation of policies on the administration system where appropriate
  • Liaise with the Pricing Specialist and/or Pricing Business Partner for pricing guidance and authorization outside of delegated authority level for this position
  • Support Product team with due diligence reviews of customer disclosure material
  • Support Operations to ensure efficient policy insurance (and reinsurance) administration
  • Provide pricing support to Business Development and Strategic Partnership teams in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensure pricing meets AIA required profit margins & return on capital measures, while balancing competitiveness with effectively allowing for the costs and profitability of the business being sought.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualified and has made some progress in Actuarial Fellowship qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months pricing experience of Group Insurance products, preferably with experience in pricing large industry funds and master trusts

  • Knowledge of the group insurance market preferred

  • Understanding of the key drivers of the Group Insurance market preferred

  • Sound understanding of actuarial concepts, capital, profit and value measures

  • Sound analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Strong Excel spreadsheet skills

  • Sound commercial awareness

Salary: $93,070.09 total package
