ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The pricing analyst is in charge of producing a 3P analysis corresponding to the last version of the pricing proposal submitted to any client (new a/o existing)
- Once this 3P will be produced, the pricing analyst will make sure the corresponding data are reported to the appropriate managers allowing them to validate the deal
- Further reporting and monitoring might be realised once the pricing proposal is submitted
- Additional specific objectives apply to Local Custody product pricing as detailed below
Data collection
Colecting the client’s volumes per product and service a specific pricing will be designed in collaboration with the product teams first and then with Client Development directly
Make sure the appropriate Client delivery teams have received the same data and is detailed enough for them to estimate the corresponding costs
Any change in the pricing proposal a/o client’s volumes will need to be collected allowing the profitability estimation to be updated with the last commercial discussions outcomes.
In case of a repricing, billing volumes might be collected for checking the revenues booked by Finance is corresponding to an appropriate application of the existing rate card
3P production
Using the 3P standard template, the pricing analyst will estimate the revenues by applying the pricing proposal to be submitted to the client’s volumes
Estimating the operational costs by respecting the 3P guidelines defined by Central Finance team (average / marginal approach)
Estimating the different margin levels by including the EVC ratios
If need be a business case including the onboarding costs will be produced
Local custody pricing specificities
Assist with pricing on complex/ multiple location deals. This includes the creation and consolidation of 3P compliant P&L analysis, the pricing approval process, the revenue impact analysis for existing clients and creation/amendment of the proposed price schedule
Review and understand financial control published unit costs for SCC. Maintain a record of any unit cost adjustments required for future P&L analysis
Review and understand financial control published 3P client profitability data
Understand the local custody price catalogue
Understand pricing strategy (custody, T2S, clearing etc) and suggest ideas to develop pricing strategy
Attend client meetings/conference calls when required to present/explain pre-agreed fee proposals noting that such attendance is strictly on the basis that i) a member of the Client Development team is present and ii) they are not authorised to negotiate fees during such meetings
Validation & Reporting
Making sure the appropriate level of management has validated the 3P analysis as per the 3P guidelines
Ensuring any pricing proposal submitted even to the same client for the same deal, is appropriately assessed using the 3P methodology
Ensuring all 3P versions are stored and all the relevant data (P&L, pricing, costs, volumes, product…) are available for further reporting
