Eaton’s Aerospace group is currently seeking a Pricing Director to lead the function for the Mission Systems Division. The preferred locations for this role are Orchard Park, NY, Davenport, IA, or Beachwood, OH, but other major Eaton locations in the US could be considered. Relocation assistance is available. The Division Pricing Director is responsible to lead a team of people to manage all activities in the pricing function for our growing Mission Systems Division (MSD) in the Aerospace Business. This position will set the strategic direction for Pricing, monitor revenue and profitability performance, and own actionable analysis to improve pricing results. This position will work closely with business development, inside sales, supply chain, and engineering functions to deliver accurate pricing in quoting tools and processes. This position will also be responsible to provide strategic guidance to price increase and maintain The Price Guidance Tool to ensure successful execution in sales team and drive accountability. This position will drive organizational and strategic change to the newly realigned price organization to establish a long-term pricing philosophy, methodology and infrastructure that is consistent, forward looking, data driven and closely aligned across our sites. The position will ensure the pricing function works more closely with our global teams to standardize how we look at pricing within our MSD business, collaboratively delivering our vision for the function. This position is responsible to build organizational capability within the pricing function of MSD and to provide leadership and direction to the business units and its leadership team in the pursuit of business goals and objectives. Assess competitive trends and providing business analysis in advance of key business plan and forecast deadlines to various audiences up to and including senior executive leadership Lead customer negotiation of escalated pricing proposals Build organizational capability through strategic price coaching, employee development, recruitment, motivation, teaming, and maximizing use of available resources to meet goals Create annual Price Operations Plan to meet Profit Plan price objective and lead successful implementation across the business Provide functional excellence leadership to a team of pricing professionals; responsible for completing ongoing / periodic analysis and planning for the Pricing function, forecasting and reporting for the Pricing function, and owning the development and implementation of key performance metrics Deliver strategic pricing analysis and optimization of momentum pricing with the balanced goal to grow the business profitably Lead pricing transformation projects using margin optimizing techniques including market, value and relationship pricing Manage initiatives to improve cycle time and quality through continuous improvement and problem solving. Develop pricing strategies, policies, and procedures (SOP) to improve team quote execution Lead the development of internal controls to ensure compliance with government and company estimating and pricing system requirements; Manage US Government TINA proposal processes and metrics Proactively review and strategy development of expiring long term agreements, new proposals, and economic adjustment clauses; Understands and manages contractual commitments Lead division strategic and tactical pricing activities to exceed annual profit plan price goals Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related from an accredited institution Aerospace & Defense industry experience required with solid understanding of FAR and DFARs regulations. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in this field Minimum of 7 years’ experience in pricing or finance experience with success in leading teams and managing multiple projects Preferred Qualifications: MBA/CPA/CMA preferred Position Criteria: Experience in simplifying complex pricing program and building pricing programs Experience in designing and building a pricing organization and structure Strategic thinker, self-starter, and results-oriented with excellent business acumen Proven ability to lead multiple projects efficiently and independently Strong financial skills / ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data. Superior skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence software Command of key pricing concepts and principles, including supply/demand, market and customer segmentation, price elasticity, and rate/volume tradeoffs. Able to apply pricing principles in a dynamic and highly competitive pricing environment Ability to effectively collaborate with sales, business development, engineering and operational professionals, and focused on meeting the needs of internal and external customers Experience leading a team of professionals and interacting with individuals at multiple levels of an organization (ranging from front line to executive) along with the ability to influence others Demonstrated strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with ability to establish effective cross-functional relationships Eaton considers qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with local laws.
