About the Position.
The Pricing & Analytics Intern role at BMW Group Canada offers an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed analytics team and work on transformational projects. You will help develop and steer advanced analytical capabilities within the Used Car department by designing, analyzing and implementing innovative data solutions, directly impacting critical aspects of the business.
The Pricing & Analytics Intern will work across the following three areas:
- Data Infrastructure
- Work with MySQL to build and maintain key data sets to empower operational and exploratory analysis.
- Prepare for automation of vehicle pricing by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on advanced pricing models and algorithms.
- Reporting
- Build, analyze and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports.
- Conduct advanced analytical tasks, data mining, clustering and predictive modeling to improve processes, reporting systems and results.
- Apply expertise in quantitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand key drivers for improving performance and operational effectiveness.
- Monitor accuracy of pricing data and calculations on an ongoing basis.
- Exploratory Analysis
- Apply statistics, machine learning and an analytical approach to solve critical business problems.
- Partner with cross functional teams to identify trends and opportunities.
- Develop and enhance retail pricing tools and methodologies.
- Design and evaluate experiments, monitor key metrics and provide explanations for possible root causes of changes in metrics.
- Recent graduate in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related quantitative field.
- Minimum one year experience within Sales, Marketing, Business Development or IT.
- Experience with data visualization and discovery tools (Tableau preferred).
- Fluency in MySQL and experience with statistical packages (R, SPSS, SAS etc.).
- Expert knowledge in MS Office, especially Excel and Access.
- Analytical thinking, gathering, analyzing and visualizing data.
- Ability to communicate results of analysis in a clear and effective manner.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Motivated to drive change with hands-on mentality
