Principle Scientist II – Bioinformatics
This position supports the implementation of informatics solutions for Lilly China Research and Development Center (LCRDC) in Shanghai, China. This position applies deep expertise of both scientific and human genetics to scientific and medical information-based problems to deliver innovative solutions within individual portfolio projects and/or research processes. As part of Lilly Research Laboratory (LRL), the individual in this role is accountable to work with broader LRL Research scientists and the Research Informatics Capabilities group to identify and apply new computational/informatics approaches that improve research productivity, quality, and technical success of our portfolio projects. This role will report directly to Head of Biology at the LCRDC site.
The successful candidate for this role will

• Develop and apply systems biology approaches to support target identification, patient tailoring, mechanistic characterization or compound repositioning efforts.

• Apply statistical modeling, designing of machine learning algorithms for bioinformatics research.

• Research and develop novel approach for next generation sequencing data analysis to support target identification and validation effort.

• Work with LRL IT informatics group to enhance data integration platform and identify new technologies / capabilities.

• Work in conjunction with the LRL IT Informatics group, the Informatics Capabilities group, and/or Application Services group to improve our LRL Research informatics capabilities and ability to deliver innovation and value to our LRL Research efforts.
