Job Description
Job Title: Primary Art Teacher (Cambridge Curriculum)
Department: Primary School / Arts Department
Location: Chaoyang District, Beijing, China
For Educators currently residing in China
1. Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Instruction
Deliver engaging and creative art lessons to primary students (Grades 1–6) following the Cambridge Primary Art & Design curriculum framework.
Develop lesson plans, unit plans, and assessment tools aligned with Cambridge standards and the school's bilingual education model.
Integrate art history, visual literacy, and hands-on media (drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, collage, printmaking, etc.) into age-appropriate units.
Foster students' creativity, observation, expression, and critical thinking through process-based and product-based art experiences.
Classroom & Assessment
Establish a positive, inclusive, and well-managed art classroom environment.
Assess and document student progress through formative and summative assessments (portfolios, rubrics, exhibitions, etc.).
Provide differentiated instruction to support various learning needs and language proficiencies (English as medium of instruction).
Decorate and maintain safe, inspiring display areas and art studio spaces.
Collaborate with homeroom teachers and subject teachers to integrate art into broader learning themes.
Professional & Administrative
Participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and artistic growth.
Contribute to the school's bilingual and international education community.
2. Qualifications & Requirements
Essential
Bachelor's degree or higher in Art Education, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of full-time primary art teaching experience
Portfolio of student work or personal artwork (required for interview).
Currently residing in China with a valid work visa or eligible for transfer.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: Up to 35,000 RMB/month (before tax, commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Housing: On-campus apartment (fully furnished) provided by the school
