Job Title: Primary Design & Technology Teacher
Location: Minhang District, Shanghai, China

Role Overview
We are seeking a creative and hands-on Design & Technology teacher to join our primary section (ages 6–14). The successful candidate will deliver an inspiring D&T curriculum that integrates design thinking, practical making, and problem-solving within a bilingual, project-based learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging D&T lessons for Primary–Middle School students (Grades 1–9), covering areas such as product design, 3D modelling, woodworking, electronics, textiles, and digital fabrication (e.g., 3D printing, laser cutting).

Develop and implement age-appropriate design projects that follow the full design cycle: research, ideation, prototyping, testing, and evaluation.

Teach safe and correct use of tools, equipment, and materials; enforce rigorous health and safety protocols in the workshop/lab.

Integrate cross-curricular connections with Science, Art, and Mathematics through STEAM-focused projects.

Assess student work through portfolios, practical outcomes, and self-reflection; provide regular feedback to support growth.

Maintain and organise D&T workshop resources, tools, and inventory; manage budgets and procurement requests.

Supervise D&T-related extracurricular activities (e.g., Maker Club, Robotics, Upcycling Projects).

Collaborate with homeroom teachers and subject specialists to support student learning and school-wide events (e.g., STEAM fairs, exhibitions).

Communicate student progress to parents via reports, conferences, and open-house demonstrations.

Uphold school policies on safeguarding, behaviour, and academic integrity.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Design, Engineering, Product Design, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent preferred).

Minimum 3years of D&T or STEAM teaching experience at primary/middle school level in an international or bilingual school setting.

Strong practical skills in workshop tools and digital design software (e.g., Tinkercad, Fusion 360, Adobe Illustrator).

Ability to differentiate instruction for mixed-age and mixed-ability groups, including EAL learners.
