Job Description
This English Language Centre in Macau are looking for a Primary English TEFL & Drama Teacher to join them in September 2020. The main responsibilities of this role include teaching General English, speaking skills, ensuring students learn and progress and receive the support and encouragement needed, and taking part in school activities as well as promoting and preserving a pleasant and courteous atmosphere in the school. Teachers work 32 office hours per week (including up to 17 teaching hours) over 4 working days per week.
Due to the very strict visa regulations in Macau, all foreign teachers must be native English speakers ( from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland or South Africa) and hold a Bachelors Degree (in any subject but ideally in Drama) plus an English teaching certificate (such as 120 hour TEFL, CELTA, ESOL etc). They must also have a minimum of 1 year of classroom teaching experience with adults and no criminal history. Applicants should also ideally have previous international teaching experience. Teachers need to be flexible to adapt to a new culture, outgoing, dedicated, professional and social-media savvy.
The centre offers a competitive TAX-FREE salary ranging between MOP 20,000 - 23,000 per month depending on experience and qualifications, one year contracts (renewable), annual flight allowance, monthly housing allowance, Medical Insurance, year-end bonus after completion of one year service. There also offer 10 days Macau national public holidays + 10 days holiday, 4 – 7 days free hotel at beginning of contract and help finding apartment. A legal work visa is provided, airport/ferry Terminal pick-up and full induction and training provided as well as on-going training and professional development.
