Job Description
【Key Responsibilities】:
1. Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the English Department, setting clear goals and objectives aligned with the institution's mission and strategic plan. Working closely with Principals and Directors to deliver on school-wide goals and initiatives.
2. Budget Management: Manage the department budget effectively, allocating resources to support
instructional needs, professional development, and departmental initiatives.
3. Faculty Management: Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate department faculty, providing mentorship, support, and professional development opportunities as needed.
4. Academic Planning: Collaborate with other Departmental Heads and Coordinators to coordinate course offerings, schedules, and resources to meet the needs of students and achieve departmental goals.
5. Curriculum Development: Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the English curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices.
6. Program management: Supervise the administration and coordination of English activities to cultivate the English culture.
7. Learning Assessment: Lead ongoing assessment efforts to evaluate the effectiveness of the English program, making data-informed decisions to enhance student learning outcomes and program quality.
8. Engagement: Cultivate positive relationships with parents, students, and stakeholders to promote the
value of the English Department and enhance opportunities for collaboration and support.
9. Student Support: Support student learning and success by fostering a positive and inclusive learning
environment, providing academic advising, and addressing student concerns and needs.
10. Participate in regular admission activities for student’s recruitment.
11. Professional Development: Stay current with developments in the field of English education, participating in relevant conferences, workshops, and professional organizations to enhance personal expertise and contribute to departmental growth.
12. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accreditation standards, educational regulations, and institutional policies related to curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student services.

【Qualifications】:
 Master's degree or higher in English, Education, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
 Previous teaching experience in English at the secondary or postsecondary level.
 Demonstrated leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably as a department chair or similar role.
 Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
 Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
 Commitment to fostering a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
 Knowledge of current trends and best practices in English education.
 Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning resources.
 Budget management and resource allocation skills.
 Basic Chinese (fluent in Chinese preferred).
