Position: Primary Homeroom & English Teacher (IB Curriculum)

Job Responsibilities:  Guided by the educational purpose of the Department: I am responsible for the class's daily education and teaching affairs.
 By the requirements of the Department, fully responsible for the class team and cultural construction, to establish a good class style, class discipline.  Make practical class work plan according to the actual situation of the class, to achieve clear goals and reasonable measures.  Regularly meet with the team of teachers to discuss UOI teaching work, and comprehensively
promote the exploration of UOI interdisciplinary topics together with the team of teachers in the class.
 Actively cooperate with the grade leader and complete the related work assigned by the grade
group.  Actively follow up the daily management of the class, establish the class exploration contract, train student cadres, improve students' self-governance ability, and build the class into a
collective of striving, solidarity and love.  Sincerely love and treat every student fairly, pay attention to the development of student's
physical and mental health, and cultivate students' good IB learner literacy.  Attach importance to the collection and sorting of materials, and do an excellent job in the assessment of students in each semester.  Coordinate the relationship between teachers in the class, make a reasonable division of work in the class, and cooperate with the teachers in the team to manage the routine work of the class.  Actively communicate with parents, strive for the cooperation of parents and social parties, and
strive to build a trinity of school, parents and students of the learner community.
 The homeroom teacher ensures the smooth implementation of SEL classes: Utilize morning reading or afternoon writing sessions to complete weekly SEL courses. Friday class meetings are used to showcase student work and summarize the week's lessons. In case of traditional festivals, a themed class meeting titled "Exploring Traditional Festivals, Tracing Cultural Roots" will be held. Student work from SEL courses is collected and displayed jointly by both homeroom teachers.  For class-related administrative communication, the two co-teachers will discuss and decide on
one person to take the lead in communication to reduce coordination costs.  Under the guidance of the head of the teaching and research group, the specific implementation of English subject teaching objectives and tasks.  Complete student subject assessment and analysis according to departmental requirements.  Based on departmental POI curriculum chart and subject curriculum, IB teaching method is used
to carry out class teaching.  Ensure that the content is relevant to UOI and that students develop the subject competencies
needed in inquiry.  Complete the relevant teaching work according to the teaching requirements of the department
and subject group. For details, see Regular Teaching Management Standards for Primary School.  Take the initiative to understand the content of meta-disciplinary inquiry, and cooperate with UOI teachers to do an excellent job in the integrated teaching of meta-disciplinary courses.  Organize class students to participate in various disciplines at all levels and strive to achieve
better results.  Participate in all kinds of teaching and research meetings and training at all levels to improve
their professional quality.  Do an excellent job in home-school communication, timely feedback of students' learning
situation.  Pay attention to the differentiation of teaching, carry out the work of academic enrichment and
remedial support within the class in a planned way.  Respect and obey the teaching arrangements of the Department, and contribute to the
sustainable development of the Department.  UOI teachers are fully responsible for the teaching of interdisciplinary inquiry.  UOI teachers complete the unit plan and weekly exploration plan and organize the subject
teachers to fill in the content of the integration part under the coordination of the grade leader.  The teaching of UOI teachers should be carried out in full accordance with the teaching concept
of IB.
 UOI teachers should promptly inform the subject teachers in the group of the unit inquiry
content of the semester.  Curriculum & Instruction: - Design and implement an inquiry-based English Language Arts curriculum aligned with school
standards. - Employ differentiated teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of students with varying
English proficiency levels. - Skillfully use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform
instruction.  Language Skills Development: - Systematically teach phonics, vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing skills. - Cultivate students' habits of close reading and extensive reading through methods such as
literature circles, small group instruction, and individual tutoring. - Guide students in writing practices across various genres, including creative writing and report
writing.  Learning Environment Creation: - Create a print-rich classroom environment that encourages risk-taking, where students feel safe
and motivated to express themselves in English. - Manage and update the classroom library, ensuring a diverse and level-appropriate range of
reading material
 Assessment & Feedback: - Regularly assess student work and performance, providing timely and effective feedback. - Accurately record and report student academic achievements and areas for growth to parents.  Professional Collaboration: - Collaborate closely with the homeroom team and other English teachers to plan curriculum, analyze student data, and share best practices. - Actively participate in school-wide English theme events, such as Book Week, to foster a strong
campus English culture.  Complete other tasks assigned by superiors.

Requirements: 1. Bachelor's degree or above (major in Education or related subject preferred);
2. With QTS/ PGCE//TEFL/national teaching certification;
3. At least 3 years of teaching experience in related fields;
4. IB/international school teaching experience preferred;
