The School

Good Hope School (“the School”) is a Catholic girls’ secondary school (high school) sponsored by the –Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception. Operating under the Direct Subsidy Scheme (“DSS”) of the Education Bureau in Hong Kong, it provides an all-round, quality education for young women leaders of the future through its core values of Love, Hope, Joy and Thanksgiving. The School is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals, all of whom take great care to constantly maintain a culture of academic excellence. They also attach great importance to enhancing all aspects of the Good Hope Spirit, the outward demonstration of every student’s growth in the spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, social, emotional and aesthetic dimensions. The Position
Reporting to the Supervisor and serving as a Member of the School Management Committee, the Principal is responsible for providing educational and managerial leadership for running the School, particularly in student development, curriculum and spiritual aspects. He/She leads the actualization of the School’s vision and executes the School’s strategic development plan. He/She acts as a role model for actualizing the Good Hope spirit; recruits, develops and motivates the faculty and staff into a cohesive and professional team. He/She will maintain strong and positive working relationships with the Sponsoring Body, the School Management Committee, Parent-Teacher Association, Alumni, education community, the Primary School and Kindergarten and other constituencies of the school community.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of fifteen years of teaching experience and at least five years of senior leadership experience. He/She should be able to lead, nurture and further develop the School members’ academic and spiritual growth. He/She should possess a recognised first degree, preferably with a higher degree and teaching qualification. A macro understanding of trends and development in education in Hong Kong is an advantage and fulfillment of the Certification for Principalship (CFP) of the Hong Kong Education Bureau is preferable. The candidate should demonstrate a personal belief congruent with the core values of Hong Kong Catholic Schools – Truth, Justice, Love, Life and Family – generally; and Good Hope Spirit – Love, Hope, Joy and Thanksgiving.
