Be an integral part of the Technology Strategy and Operating Model Transformation (TSOMT) group at BNY Mellon and help build the future of technology in the firm. TSOMT is spearheading the adoption of Agile, DevOps, and business-aligned product delivery, and instituting long-term, transformative changes, while evolving Technology’s multi-year Operating Model and the Technology Strategy Master Plan. We are driving a comprehensive People and Workforce Strategy which identifies and invests in the skills that will create a world class Technology organization and a highly engaged workforce, with a focus on promoting continuous learning, development, listening, and recognition. Critically, we are surfacing and prioritizing the best strategic change investment opportunities to improve efficiency, increase productivity, and shift spending to deliver a sustainable advantage through investment in differentiating activities. To enable growth at scale, we are delivering superior Technical Documentation for the changes to our strategy, operating model, and tools, to drive the adoption of shared services, enterprise frameworks, and components, and to support end-users and customer. Job Responsibilities As one of the Enterprise Agile Coaches for BNY Mellon’s Agile Transformation, you will be at the forefront of the firm’s evolution. In this role you will bring the passion needed to help development teams realize their full potential by coaching and enabling them to deliver outstanding software using agile best practices. You will serve as a role model and leader for the overall transformation and work directly with teams to improve their practices. Coach/mentor executives, managers, product managers, and agile leads in the agile mindset, principles, behaviors, and values of servant leadership needed to transform the organization Publish and Maintain Agile best practices in a central repository Deliver training classes (virtually) for large numbers of people Coach the pilot businesses through their transformation May at times fill various roles based on organizational needs, including Scrum Master and Team Coach Instigate change and continuous improvement to increase the productivity of the teams and quality of all software engineering deliverables, fostering unified development strategies inclusive of DevOps, QA, Architecture and UX and a customer-driven agile development strategy Develop and coordinate the tailored rollout plan for each Line of Business in partnership with the federated Agile leads Own the Agile Champions network for the firm Establish and own the Agile Enablement Center Chair the Agile Coach working group with the Agile coaching leads from each LOB Partner with Enterprise Change and Portfolio to implement new Agile standards in our DLC Qualifications Proven experience in leading complex initiatives, coaching, and training Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience 5+ years Agile experience, including 2+ years as an Agile practitioner and 3+ years as an Agile Coach, and at least 1 year of experience managing multiple Agile teams A track record of leadership in Agile transformation in large organizations, with proven knowledge of the application of Agile at scale, and the demonstrated ability to coach and lead the cultural and organizational change to make it work Deep expertise in Agile methodologies and frameworks. Expert in Agile Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, Test Driven Development and software engineering principles and practices. Very strong written and verbal communication skills Experience with tools such as Confluence, JIRA, and PPM preferred Ability to learn new technology quickly, demonstrated by experience in an engineering environment Ability to take ambiguous topics and translate into actionable plans working with multiple business and technical stakeholders Strong team player with outstanding communication, organization, and collaboration skills BNY Mellon is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
