Job Description

The Microsoft Cloud and AI (C+AI) Security group provides cybersecurity research, risk expertise and engineering leadership to secure the Microsoft Cloud. We provide a security monitoring platform and analytics, scan automation, threat detection and risk reduction for the Azure platform portfolio of IaaS compute as well as serverless and PaaS services including Storage, SQL DB, App Services, Functions, AI, IoT to name a few, enabling customers to build secure and compliant Cloud-Native as well as Hybrid applications.

 

The group is looking for an experienced security professional to be the Principal Architect incubating a portfolio of protection, detection and response capabilities focused securing Microsoft’s AI systems. This is a greenfield opportunity and the ability to build a startup within Microsoft. Your work will play a key role in enhancing the security posture of some of the largest cloud services.

Responsibilities

  • Create long term architecture and execution roadmap in Adversarial Machine Learning and work with the engineering team, and partner collaboration, to facilitate the vision
  • Review design and implementation to ensure alignment with the long term vision
  • Assist in incubating new projects and technologies to enable the next wave of customer scenarios
  • Provide technical guidance to leadership team in Adversarial Machine Learning

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in Adversarial Machine Learning space or in applying machine learning for security problems
  • 4+ years experience in platform/framework level software engineering experience with rigorous quality engineering practices across all phases of product development, deployment, and validation

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Red Teaming and Threat Modeling
  • Publication in any of these venues: NeurIPS workshop on Security, ScAINet, SafeML ICLR Workshop, Defcon AI Village, AISec at ACM-CCS
  • Participation in EvadeML challenge, Unrestricted Adversarial Example Challenge,
  • Contribution to open source tools like cleverhans

 Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
