About Advance Analytics Office (AAO): 

AAO is missioned with accelerating Analytics solutions at scale across the Enterprise to rapidly capture business value. These solutions target key business metrics, such as, reducing manufacturing cost, improve capital efficiency, reduce time-to market to develop new products, improve operational efficiency, and improve customer experience.

 

These solutions are built using cutting edge Industrial 4.0 technologies and are delivered through a platform approach to enable rapid scaling. The solutions span AI/ML for improving manufacturing yield, quality, equipment uptime, and adaptive testing, Operations Research for capacity and scheduling optimization, Digital Twin for inventory and logistics optimization, and Product Telematics for managing customer fleet management solutions. Many of these solutions are first-of-a-kind that have discovery and rapid learning elements with the intent of taking solution to scale.

 

We are looking for a Data Scientist to grow our Shanghai AAO team. You will have the opportunity to partner in making remarkable things happen across WDT’s more than dozen factories across the globe, global product development teams, customer solutions, and supporting operations like Finance, supply chain, Procurement, Sales etc.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engage with Analytics Business Partners (ABP) and customers to understand how analytics can help solve a given business problem and provide technical leadership to the project team from inception to solution delivery.
  • Perform ETL, data cleansing and feature engineering to prepare data required for Rapid Learning Cycle (RLC) projects.
  • Perform EDA and work with SMEs to establish data understanding and address data quality issues.
  • Partner with other Data Scientists in AAO and Flash factories to build advanced statistical, AI and ML models that are congruent with the problem being solved and optimize for performance.
  • Partner with ML Engineers and Solution Architects in AAO to seamlessly operationalize models developed from RLC to Pilot to Production – follow good engineering practices (e.g., data and source code version control, documentation etc.) for the complete E2E MLOps life cycle.
  • Present findings & recommendations to key stakeholders and executive sponsors.
  • Be up to date on latest technological advancements in AI/ML space through self-learning, literature research, relevant conferences etc.
  • Proactively network with other engineers and data analysts in Flash factories to identify collaboration opportunities.
  • Be a brand ambassador and influencer in AAO center of excellence for advanced analytics.
  • Coach and mentor fellow junior Data Scientists in the team

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Sciences or Engineering).
  • BS & 7+ years or MS & 6+ years or PhD & 3+ year of experience in an analytics function in semiconductor manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record in designing and developing E2E analytics solutions for factory problems.
  • Strong theoretical understanding & hands-on experience in statistical data analysis, AI & ML techniques (e.g., Supervised and Unsupervised modeling, Deep Learning, CNN, NLP, Statistical Process Control, Time-series analysis) and common data analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, Tensorflow etc).
  • Experience with Database Technologies (SQL, NoSQL), Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark) and Cloud Technologies (AWS, GCP).
  • Ability to work independently and with team members from different backgrounds.
  • Ability to present complex data and analytics insights in the most effective ways and communicate a compelling story. 
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and verbal & written communication (English & Mandarin) skills.
  • Positive attitude towards learning on-the-job and strive in a rapidly changing environment.
