Job Description

1.      Onsite CTS representative during product qualification and MP phase, end to end technical support to assigned customers;

2.      Drives all customer qualification and quality initiatives; Provides product status update for external and/or internal customers; Write technical whitepapers and technical issue report, explain to customer and collect the feedback;

3.      Identify technical issues in system level or drive level and work with the team for root cause analysis; Organize and lead complex technical engineer-to-engineer discussion externally and internally;

4.      Focal point for all qualification related issues or concerns at the assigned accounts, manage the overall perception of WDC product introduction;

5.      Translate customer requirement or expectation into clear executable task or assignment and Coordinate internal cross functional team for support based on the defined priority and keep tracking for closure;

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

1.      BSEE or Master Degree with minimum 5 years of professional technical experience. A working knowledge of storage industry is desirable.

2.      Experience shall include at least below areas like FAE/AE or experience with direct customer support in HDD/SSD or related product. Data Center storage device knowledge is preferred

3.      Familiar with the specification/protocol of SATA, SAS and PCIe/nVMe, ability to use bus analyzer and analyze the data captured.

4.      Strong expertise on ATA/SCSI/ZAC protocol, able to build CBD based on Spec.; Bus trace analysis.

5.      Familiar with 3rd-party tool usage, capable to analyze the source code. (smartctl, libzbc, fio, sg3-utils, hdparm, etc)

6.      Skillful in shell and python at least, able to build test script.

7.      Familiar with I/O path, and deep-dive performance case at application layer through blktrace, bus trace, and etltrace.     

8.      Familiar with Linux OS, capable to analyze the kernel code for issue debug.    

 

PREFERRED:

1.      Master degree and with R&D background is preferred.

2.      Experience with Storage/server industry is preferred.

3.      Experience with C language and storage driver in Linux or VxWorks environment is preferred. File system knowledge is preferred as well.  

4.      Leadership skill as one of core skills is preferred.

SKILLS:

1.      Fluent spoken and written English is a must.

2.      Good communication skill with internal or external partners, customers and vendors is required.

3.      Strong sense on team work, customer orientation, quality and discipline is highly preferred. 

4.      Strong debugging, problem solving skills with proven experience.

5.      In-depth knowledge or understanding of storage product, esp., SSD and HDD.
