Job Description

In this position, the individual will provide on-site support for drive handling and ESD training at Contract Manufacturer locations. Provide periodic reports to the customer, CM, and WDC summarizing production volumes, vendor-chargeable defects, process-induced defects, and CND/NTF incidents. Provide direct support to customer and CM Supplier Quality Engineers for any integration-related issues and activities. Manage WDC outside contractors providing integration support at customer manufacturing sites, and provide direct support as necessary at US-based CM's. Serve as the WDC focal point for product quality and reliability issues. Monitor customer integration failures for new failure modes and increasing failure trends, alerting WDC management to any out-of-goal conditions. Provide periodic Quality metrics reports to the customer in support of their quality reporting requirements (integration DPPM, AFR, etc.). Host periodic quality meetings with the customer. Coordinate DPPM/AFR improvement plans. Establish trigger points for DPPM and Field AFR metrics, and drive corrective actions and improvement plans for out-of-goal conditions. Drive NTF/CND reduction plans. Prepare 8D reports for drive failures and quality issues, and negotiate with the customer for closure. Work with customer, WDC and CM teams on continuous quality improvement plans to meet customer quality goals. Identify customer F/A requirements, and monitor failure analysis activities to ensure that F/A turn-around time and 8D content meets customer expectations. Manage stop-ships/stop infeeds through the immediate involvement of WDC’s Quality and Operations organizations, and ensure criteria for release of stop-ships is understood and communicated throughout WDC. Assist with drive recall and drive re-work/re-kitting activities, to minimize product supply interruptions and to minimize scrap. Assist with coordinating, preparing, and presenting quality-related QBR scorecard responses, and generate and follow up on resulting action items and improvement plans. Provide customer audit support to WDC’s factories and Contract Manufacturers.

This position requires an education in one of the following: Electrical, Mechanical, Material, Software engineering. The individual should be knowledgeable in Quality/Reliability (including Failure Analysis basics), and manufacturing processes. Experience in Q&R in Electronic companies is preferred. The individual must be able to speak both Mandarin and English (good English communications capabilities, including speaking, is a must). The individual should have at least 5 years in Customer Quality and/or Q&R and/or in semiconductors and/or in memory industry.


 

Education: Electrical, Mechanical, Material, Software engineering. Advantage: Degree/Certifications in Quality/Reliability.

Knowledge topics: Quality/Reliability (including Failure Analysis basics), Manufacturing processes

Professional experience: Q&R in Electronic companies

Languages: Mandarin and English (good English communications capabilities, including speaking, is a must).

Total years of experience: at least 5 years in Customer Quality and/or Q&R and/or in semiconductors and/or in memory industry.
