The Industrial Systems Team at ADI is developing systems to enable intelligence at the edge. As Principal, Systems Engineering you will prototype, develop, and deploy system level solutions for the broad base of ADI’s industrial customers. You will be responsible for gathering requirements, developing HW and SW system architecture, creating system level block diagrams, and working with a team of HW and SW system engineers to develop working solutions for proof-of-concept demonstrations as well as customer adoption.
In this dynamic new position, you will leverage ADI’s core technologies (power, precision signal chain, converters, RF, and embedded DSPs) and collaborate with domain experts from the various Technology Group, Business Units, ADI partners and customers. This is a senior level hands on technical lead position that will drive technical execution and provide mentorship to future technical leaders. Ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of the overall application stack of our customers – from HW to all layers of SW (drivers, middleware, application) and architect ADI systems to integrate well with our customers. Domain knowledge in industrial systems and sensors is beneficial but not required to be successful in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, prototype and verify hardware and software systems for embedded industrial applications with internal and external stakeholders
- Work closely with system architects to develop system requirements
- Develop hardware and software specifications
- Create and manage documentation for active projects
- Test and debug embedded software and applications
- Drive code and design reviews
- Develop and maintain firmware for embedded platforms
- Develop tools and techniques for testing and verification
- Provide training and marketing collateral for sales, FAEs and customers
Requirements
- Master’s degree or relevant experience in electrical engineering or computer science
- 15+ years of experience in embedded software or hardware development
- Good understanding of the HW and SW embedded solution stack
- Experience in development of signal processing and optimization algorithms on GPUs, DSP, or FPGAs
- Experience developing / debugging C / C++ on Linux based embedded platforms as well as kernel modifications
- Experience in prototyping environment in both Python and MATLAB
- Software configuration management software experience in git, Perforce or similar application
- Excellent knowledge of interface and network protocols
- High degree of familiarity with logic analyzers, digital oscilloscope etc.
- Good grasp of testing and debugging techniques and protocols
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, engineers, customers, and partners
