We are building exciting end user facing applications for consumers and information workers, platforms, and cloud services that will protect our users and their devices from cyber-attacks through intuitive and easy-to-use experiences. Responsibilities
As a Principal Group Engineering Manager in our team, you will lead, mentor and grow a team of talented, diverse engineers, engineering managers, and architects who are versed in delivering exceptional end user experiences, and world class services to our end users. You will work across organizations, collaborating with partner teams such as Windows Core Operating Systems team, Edge team, Microsoft Identity team, etc. You will be required to provide strong leadership, raise the technical bar, maintain a data and results driven culture, nurture a team culture of high collaboration and trust, and drive Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance services adoption.
Qualifications
Required qualifications (need to be quantifiable):
• 12+ years of experience as a software engineer/engineering manager working on industrial strength software and a proven track record of having shipped commercially successful software products & services
• 12+ years in data structures, algorithms, highly concurrent programming, analysis of algorithm complexity
• 8+ years of experience driving and managing technical and architectural dependencies
• 8+ years of experience in leadership roles managing software engineering teams
• 5+ years of experience designing end user applications that are built using modern web-based technologies such as progressive web apps
• 5+ years of experience in cloud development principles and patterns, particularly loosely coupled architectures and micro-services, dev-ops model
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering
Preferred qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Software Engineers, Program Managers, Security researchers, and Data Scientists
• Demonstrated leadership competencies such as creating clarity in an ambiguous environment, generating energy and delivering success
• Ability to drive culture change in an organization
• Expertise in .NET framework and/or JAVA, C# or equivalent programming language, HTML/JavaScript/React based user experiences, Progressive Web Apps
• Design applications that can run on Windows & Mac, and mobile devices with a common core architecture
• Familiar with Secure Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience with software development tools such as source control systems (GIT), automated build systems, compilers, software validation systems, project tracking, and lifecycle management systems
• Development experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS.
• Practical experience with building Cyber Security products and applied AI is a definite plus
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
