We are seeking a Principal IS Architect to join our Manufacturing Digital Capabilities team as the global lead for Product Serialization and Automated Printing and Inspection Systems, to ensure product traceability, improve quality and compliance, protect Amgen products, and help improve the safety of our patients.

Key job responsibilities:

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

• Build out Product Serialization, Print & Inspect solutions, standards, community by providing technical leadership to a global team of engineers and busines partners
• Define the Product Serialization, Print & Inspect platform roadmap
• Lead selected efforts to design, build, and develop rapid Proof-of-Concept (POC) Product Serialization, Print & Inspect solutions and services. Quickly and iteratively prove or disprove the concepts being considered.
• Work with process subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand key process requirements and transform them into digital automated solutions
• Lead development on high profile and complex projects to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects by working closely with the cross functional team members (software development, business, GIS, etc.)
• Collaborate with business partners to understand how automation can improve quality and efficiency
• Synthesize requirements from clients, customers or end-users to develop the best automation solutions
• Own and manage the global product label template library

A day in the life:

• You are leading from the front engaging with business functions and other architects to develop a vision and multi-year roadmap for the advancement of Product Serialization, Print & Inspect solutions
• Collaborating with service owners, support teams and the application run management to continuously improve platform reliability
• Shaping Amgen's future – Keep track of industry and technology trends, connect and foster external networking opportunities to deliver valuable insight from other similar professionals in our industry
• Performing cross system analysis, feasibility analysis, scope projects, prioritize deliverables, and recommend optimal solution.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience designing, developing, deploying, and operating Serialization and Automation solutions
• Strong technical leadership in Serialized Product Tracking and Automated Packaging Solutions
• Good understanding of GxP systems validation
• Process Automation and Engineering experience delivering value
• Strong customer service focus with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, stakeholders and management.  Demonstrate strong collaboration across all levels of the organization. Assertive and confident in raising action points with senior individuals with excellent spoken and written communication.
• Self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies, work cross-functionally in teams (internal and external)

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication skills with scientific domain expertise to communicate optimally with various partners within the organization
• Strong ability in defining and refining business system requirement and recommend digital solutions. Experience creating requirements specifications, design specifications, and test protocol documents
• Experience in and certifications for Serialized Product Tracking software applications (e.g., Systech)
• Experience and understanding of industrial cameras and machine vision technologies
• Experience and understanding of infrastructure services, fundamentals and operations (Storage, VMs, Network, Active Directory, etc.)
• Experience in relational database fundamentals
• Experience in programming/scripting languages, including but not limited to: C#, Python, JavaScript
• Experience in industrial control systems (Rockwell ,Siemens etc.), communication tools (e.g., Kepware, Matrikon) and protocols (e.g., OPC, MQTT)
• Ability to quickly assimilate knowledge of new platforms, languages, tools and technologies
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies (such as Sprint and Scrum) and DevOps
