Job Description

This is an exciting time to join Intel as a Principal NAND Validation Engineer!

What you'll be doing:

  • Validation of NAND components from the component feasibility stage through the production ramp.
  • Develop test strategies and test plans for NAND feature and characterization validation.
  • Make a significant contribution to design engineering to design-in high quality.
  • Review details of test plans, test code, validation results, analysis, and coverage.
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues related to the NAND design, trims, or systems integration.
  • Lead technical teams in challenging issue resolution during development and production.
  • Mentor mid-career engineers in NAND operation and validation techniques.
  • Autonomously plan and schedule own daily tasks, develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Led technical teams and provided mentoring.

The position is associated with the sale of the NAND business to SK Hynix aligning to Phase 2 of the transaction. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel developing NAND technology and components. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025 at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to Solidigm, a stand-alone US subsidiary of SK Hynix headquartered in San Jose, California with offices world-wide. Solidigm is a leading global supplier of NAND flash memory solutions, led by Robert (Rob) B. Crooke as CEO, previously senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar discipline and 12+ years of experience.

  • Industry experience in product development of NAND Components, or very similar technologies.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of current industry common NAND features.
  • Experience with formal validation methods.

- 5 years of experience in NAND feature validation, with hands-on experience in test case/code development, bench testing, and failure analysis.



Preferred Qualifications:

​ - MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, with an emphasis in NAND or other memory technologies and 8+ years of experience in the minimum qualifications.

OR

- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, with an emphasis in NAND or other memory technologies and 6+ years of experience in the minimum qualifications.

  • NAND development, such as design, systems engineering, RWB, Sort or Component Burn product engineering

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
