What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be an integral members of nonclinical safety sciences and cross-functional scientific teams. Across therapeutic indications and modalities, the Principal Pathologist will contribute to the drug development process from target identification and validation through product registration.
Translational Safety and Bioanalytical Sciences (TS & BA) is seeking a comparative/translational veterinary anatomic Principal Pathologist to join us at our South San Francisco, CA site.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will:
- Contribute to discovery, investigative and regulatory studies.
- Interpret and integrate complex pathology data sets
- Problem solve safety issues, and provide context of human risk.
- Other opportunities exist including support of animal models of disease, mechanistic investigative studies, serving on interdisciplinary drug development product teams and participating on due diligence reviews.

Basic Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP), or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD and/or post-doctoral research in a relevant field (e.g., life sciences, translational biology, molecular biology)
- 1+ years of academic or industry experience demonstrating a record of achievement
- Ability to critically evaluate and interpret results of experiments and integrate datasets and literature
- Ability to work independently, build cross-functional collaborations, manage conflict, and multi-task
- Demonstrated teamwork skills, resilience, and leadership skills
- Interest in digital pathology applications
- Working knowledge of database tools needed to effectively query literature and public databases
