YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Principal Process Chemist, are to: 

• Develop new chemical processes and new technologies within existing processes to drive business improvements in yield, quality, cost, IP, sustainability, and safety;
• Conceive and execute research and development projects related to commercial AI production.
• Transfer results to manufacturing sites for plant scale studies and supports final implementation and maintenance;
• Work closely with Engineering and production teams to ensure the safe and effective operation of chemical production facilities;
• Collaborate with multiple world-wide business and process optimization teams to maximize process improvement and new technology implementation;
• Drive cooperation with respective other functions inside and outside of research and assure appropriate management of IP and documentation;
• Provide leadership in development and implementation of project strategy, timelines, resource allocation, and status communication.

Required Qualifications:

• Master of Science with comparable experience in process technology evaluation, development, scale – up and optimization or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical engineer with at least five years of experience in chemistry and engineering knowledge with focus on reaction mechanisms, process research including state-of-the-art technologies, process safety, application of statistical tool and experimental design, kinetics, and analytical chemistry;
• Research experience in both laboratory and manufacturing plant environments;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently and drive collaborative projects forward by drawing conclusions and communicating recommendations to the project team and departmental leadership;
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team or lead through influence.
