Job Description

If so, then the Microsoft Azure Compute VM Sizes and Hardware team is the place for you!  As Microsoft’s cloud platform, Azure is continuing its substantial growth and the Azure Compute VM Sizes and Hardware team is delivering the platform that will host that growth!

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer workload needs, identify emerging markets, define the Compute virtual machine (VM) family product roadmap and communicate the strategy to leaders and partners
  • Partner with Cloud Supply Chain and Provisioning, Business Planning, Finance, and other stakeholders to implement the roadmap in VM family introductions as we evolve the hardware fleet to meet performance and efficiency needs, as the Engineering Group representative in the New Product Initiative process
  • Work with customers to pilot new platforms and VMs and collaborate with teams to build effective go-to-market strategies for these offerings
  • Work with suppliers to drive Microsoft’s requirements into the hardware engineering roadmap
  • Utilize strong data-driven and project management methodologies to monitor the delivery, quality, and efficiency of new offerings, and deliver highly effective, predictable, and repeatable processes with continual improvement

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Program Management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent industry experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Passion for understanding customer workloads and new hardware technology
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiating skills
  • Strong understanding of, and experience in, onboarding or enabling hardware systems with ever-improving quality
  • Ability to build and foster relationships with external customers and suppliers
  • Proven ability to prioritize, plan, and track large scale programs
  • Demonstrated track record of self-directed execution even when faced with ambiguity
  • Ability to learn from setbacks and incorporate feedback with a growth mindset
  • Experience with the design and operation of virtual machines recommended
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud systems recommended
     

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
