Microsoft is an industry leader in the Internet of Things (IoT). Cloud native technologies like Kubernetes can accelerate customers' digital transformation in IoT and edge computing. We are seeking an experienced Principal Program Manager to explore and define innovative product offerings in this space.
You will envision a cloud native technology stack across IoT devices and edge computing environments, connected to the Azure cloud. You will consider how to apply this across our portfolio of IoT offerings on a variety of operating systems. You will explore the intersections of Kubernetes with Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and an ever-expanding array of Intelligent Edge technologies. Think about industrial robots with computer vision, smart displays in retail stores, automation controllers in connected factories, or smart gateways that bring AI and edge computing to the farms that feed the world.

Responsibilities
Intimately understand customer needs and product opportunity in the IoT and edge computing space, across a wide variety of verticals
Envision and design innovate products which leverage cloud native technologies in novel ways for our customers
Develop a keen understanding of potential industry collaborators and competitors, to articulate how our offerings fit into the universe of available technologies
Work closely with internal engineering teams to prototype product ideas, drive them to completion, and launch with an ecosystem of partners
Form strong, collaborative relationships with numerous partner teams within the company, and in the broader Cloud Native Computing Foundation community
Be a great mentor for junior and senior PMs, providing meaningful learning opportunities and coaching
Qualifications
Required
8+ years of technology program management or software engineering leadership experience
1+ years of product engineering experience working on microservices and container orchestration technologies in the Kubernetes ecosystem.
Preferred
Deep knowledge of the IoT industry and partner ecosystem
Well-defined point of view on how IoT and Edge technologies should evolve to drive digital transformation
Deep technical acumen for cloud computing platforms
3+ years of engineering experience working on Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Edge Computing, OS components, or embedded devices
Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills, as demonstrated by a proven portfolio of strategy papers and product vision documents
Master's degree in computer science or other technology discipline
