Job Description

Microsoft Teams is a new, collaborative communication product that brings together the power of Office 365 to empower teams to do more, together. As the hub for teamwork and intelligent communications, Teams provides rich capabilities for enterprise calling, intelligent online meetings, and an extensible platform for first and third-party integrations to connect with our conversational canvases.

 

Our group’s mission is to deliver cutting edge calling and meeting capabilities for Teams. Our team is looking for an experienced Program/Product Manager with a strong technical background and product focus to define and deliver strategic investments in our calling and meeting experiences. In this role, you’ll interact with a broad range of internal and external partners and have opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies in the online communications and meetings space. You will be working closely with the engineering and design team to plan, develop, and deliver solutions that solve customer problems. Candidates should be able to work independently and drive complex projects that require collaboration across multiple teams and workstreams while maintaining focus on customer requirements and strategic direction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead conceptualization of intelligent online meeting experiences, work closely with the design to come up the right user experience and work with the engineering teams and our partner teams to build and ship features with the best quality 
  • Engage with customers to understand their requirements, triage, prioritize, and address customer feedback.
  • Contribute to the overall product strategy and roadmap. 
  • Evangelize, present concepts & roadmap to the leadership team and other senior leaders at Microsoft 
  • Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of complex group projects, track all defined deliverables from conception through launch, leveraging established processes, tools, and communications mechanisms 
  • Analyze large scale data to evaluate product quality, usage and success to inform future product planning 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in program management or product management in software companies with a proven track record of delivering scalable consumer products 
  • Bachelor and/or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent  
  • Deep understanding and working knowledge of Agile methodology of software development 
  • Previous experience of working closely with designers to build building great user experiences 
  • Ability to wear many hats and learn quickly, and the temperament to lead a change in direction when needed along with strong project management, leadership, and cross‐group collaboration skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and critically about product features, architectures, and capabilities coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills through all levels of the organization, technical and non‐technical. Native or professional fluency in English 
  • Previous experience with web based scalable products, mobile application development, and cloud solution architectures a plus
