Job Description
Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) is looking for strong, passionate researchers at various levels in the areas of system and networking. You will work on exciting and challenging projects in directions including deep learning framework, distributed system infrastructures and tools, distributed database and transaction systems, intelligent cloud and edge computing, distributed graph processing, large scale storage system, high performance data center networking, custom hardware architecture with FPGA, blockchain and smart contract, etc.
Responsibilities
Identify, define, lead, and conduct cutting edge research projects to advance the state of the art. Build strategic partnership with product teams to drive business impacts. Manage and grow a team of talents.
Qualifications
- PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent field, with 10+ years of experiences in research and advanced development in related areas
- Good research track record in related areas, with evidence through academic publications and services
- Extensive and deep research experience in, and familiarity with, the literature and the state-of-the-art research/practice in related areas
- Demonstrated ability to develop research agendas and carry out research tasks independently and/or with collaboration
- Good communication and presentation skills in written and oral English
- Good implementation skills as a strong plus
- Hands-on tech-transfer experiences and/or project management skills as a strong plus
- Ability to lead projects, manage teams, and collaborate with product teams to deliver impacts
- At least 3 years above team and people management experience
