Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will work in hte pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism (PKDM) within Amgen Research which is dedicated to the discovery and development of novel, effective, and safe medicines.

The department of pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism (PKDM) within Amgen Research is dedicated to the discovery and development of novel, effective, and safe medicines. PKDM is currently seeking a Senior Scientist level candidate. The successful candidate will work in a team environment to characterize the absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion (ADME) and pharmacokinetic properties of therapeutic drug candidates to achieve their full pharmacological potential. PKDM works in close partnership with subject areas such as medicinal chemistry, protein sciences, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacology and regulatory to craft promising clinical therapeutic candidates, conduct preclinical development studies, support clinical evaluation and contribute to IND and NDA filings.

Responsibilities:

• Require strong knowledge and experience as a project team representatives (PTR) in support of drug discovery and development.
• Ability to lead others regarding experimental design, data interpretation, and communication of results.
• Subject matter expertise across different modalities is strongly desired.

Basic Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree and 3 years of industry experience Or
• Master’s degree and 6 years of industry experience Or
• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in pharmacology, pharmacokinetic/pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry or a related discipline.
• Experience representing PKDM science in drug discovery and/or development is required.
• The candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to excel in a highly collaborative, matrixed team environment.
• Experience with filing IND-enabling reports and written summaries is of benefit.

This position can be remote or based out of South San Francisco.
