Live
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. We are seeking a scientist and analytical protein chemist with a consistent track record in biopharmaceutical protein support, scientific eminence and leadership and mentoring skills.
In this vital role you will be part of the Discovery Attribute Sciences group providing scientific and technical expertise to support early discovery research through to later stage molecule optimization and late-stage selection of Amgen’s pipeline of drug candidates. This position is an exciting opportunity to unlock the potential of biology for patients suffering from serious illnesses by discovering, developing, manufacturing and delivering innovative human therapeutics.
- Experience managing timelines and therapeutic projects
- Experience managing other analytical chemists
- Experience using analytical characterization techniques such as rpLC-MS, native-MS, capillary electrophoresis (and CE-MS), cation exchange (and CEX-MS), size exclusion chromatography (and SEC-MS) and biophysical techniques including, but not limited to hydrophobic interaction chromatography, differential scanning and fluorometric calorimetry, self-interaction spectroscopy and rheology.
- Experience with rpLC-MS/MS to map and characterize post translational modifications such as deamidation, isomerization and oxidation
- Experience generating, processing and using large analytical data sets for the application of biomolecule attribute and manufacturability prediction.
- Experience using sensitive high-throughput, low material consumptive and predictive analytics would be an advantage
- Develop collaborations with both internal and external partners. For example, clients in early research protein cloning, expression and purification; process development; university and external research institutes
- Communicate (verbal and in written) scientific concepts and results
- Work collaboratively with other scientists on multidisciplinary teams
