Security Architect – Azure Edge Devices
The opportunity around intelligent edge devices is significant and growing – there are already more connected things than people in the world!! These devices, ranging from tiny MCU based sensor devices to powerful devices in cars, drones and datacenters, have profound impact to our daily lives; from how we live, how we work, how we learn and how we connect. The Microsoft Azure Edge Devices team is working on creating the next generation of intelligent edge devices across a wide range of form factors, device architypes and AI technologies to enable new application scenarios, provide in-depth business insights and safeguard the security and privacy of our data.
We are looking for an experienced Security Architect to join our team. Your core responsibility will be to provide technical leadership and insight to inform and evolve our intelligent edge device security strategy that scales from MCUs to the cloud.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities and requirements:
Define the intelligent edge device security platform architecture in collaboration with other key internal stakeholders.
Engage with internal product teams, architects, and business leaders to understand and inform product roadmaps and security needs.
Evaluate emerging technologies and market trends to develop a 5-year vison and roadmap.
Communicate security architecture strategy and roadmap clearly and effectively internally and externally.
Engage with our Edge Device and Silicon ecosystem partners and customers to understand their challenges in developing/deploying secure systems and emerging requirements.
Apply your expertise in both hardware and software security to determine architecture trade-offs to deliver optimal security platform solutions.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
BS/MS in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
10+ years of experience defining, developing, and delivering security architectures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with silicon and software product development and understanding the product development lifecycle
Experience in secure OS and kernel architectures, secure computing and trusted execution environments, and application level security architectures.
Security engineering experience in conducting threat analysis, risk management, mitigation techniques, and vulnerability assessments
Understanding of security algorithms and protocols, Public Key Infrastructure, Key Management
Software development experience in C#, C++, and or Python or equivalent.
Excellent communication skills and cross-group collaborative leadership
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
