To help ensure the best experience possible for our customers, the Azure IoT Platform team is looking for a seasoned engineering leader who can lead our IoT Platform effort for the Reston, VA team. Azure IoT Platform makes it easy for customers to build, deploy, and manage IoT solutions on the edge and in the Azure cloud.

Successful candidates must have a proven track record of leading successful engineering teams, strong technical depth (former developers preferred), excellent written and verbal communication skills, executive maturity both internally and externally, and the ability to independently drive cross-group engagements.

• Partner with peer teams across Azure IoT to build on the great work they’re doing

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in engineering management
• Prior developer/coding experience
• Strong technical aptitude with a deep understanding of cloud services
• Strong executive maturity both internally and externally
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication 
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, similar engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Passion for developer experiences, driving simplicity through the dev pipeline
• Experience shipping cloud services
• Proven experience in defining the roadmap, strategy, and go-to-market plans for a major enterprise-targeted cloud service
• Experience in consumer or industrial IoT space

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

• Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements 
• Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance. 
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
