Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking a Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) Specialist to join our team. This position will be based either in El Paso, TX or San Diego, CA out of a home office, that will require travel to Eaton’s electrical manufacturing and supplier sites in the US and Mexico. Position Overview: Our PCBA Specialist will lead strategic programs and productivity and quality improvements as a subject matter expert (SME) in Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) processes used in Electrical Services-Americas manufacturing. This will be accomplished through world class manufacturing gap identification, leading manufacturing councils, overseeing process performance metrics and actions and developing 5-year strategies that are integrated into the Profit Planning process. This position will also provide project management support for PCBA site projects and provide Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) support for our suppliers. In this function you will: Lead and mentor the PCBA manufacturing sites on world class manufacturing & productivity improvement Be the subject matter expert (SME) for Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) processes. Develop and implement advanced processes and PCBA methodologies including new hardware initial set-up and testing and installation and qualification of new equipment. Lead projects as the project manager that include equipment purchase & installation, equipment rearrangement for optimal flow, and process improvements to drive productivity improvements. Troubleshoot production (process, material and equipment) related issues, lead, coordinate and implement improvements and corrective actions. Including the development or improvement of manufacturing operation sequence and tooling designs. Supports and analyzes NPD processes during pilot runs and during mass productions. Aid in verification and analysis of solutions of manufacturing issues and cascade learning. Monitors ECO implementations (Engineering Change Order) for design, process and parts confirmation affecting processes. Conducts plant trainings and certifications to support process familiarization and other issues. Coordinate with PCBA sites on improvements and new process implementation. Monitors analysis and failure across sites and assists action teams to formulate effective corrective actions/solutions to improve productivity and line efficiency. Reviews, develops and maintains Manufacturing process/line. Coordinates with Product engineers, AI Engineers, Test Engineers, QC, and CI Leaders on issues related to to manufacturing processes. Initiates and participates in product/material, labor and overhead cost reductions and/or improvements Drive productivity improvements, resolve existing manufacturing challenge and coordinates best practices between multiple facilities Manage capital and expense spending for assigned projects Prepare financial justification for projects in support of CAR analysis. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of working experience in high volume electronics manufacturing environment related to PCBA Processes Experience in project management Ability and willingness to travel 25-50% of the time – new business getting off the ground Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or within the future Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering Lean Manufacturing experience AutoCad capabilities Fluent in Spanish a plus Must be able to work with limited, and remote, supervision Must be capable of handling multiple projects at a time Must be comfortable interfacing with all levels of management Must be able to function in multicultural work environments Position Criteria: Must be passionate about continuous improvement and be willing to be trained in lean tools.
