This role is laboratory based and involves activities to support multiple global component manufacturing and lubricant additive blending operations. The laboratory activities support projects to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs and commercialize new products. This includes designing, executing and interpreting laboratory work in support of these activities. The Research Technician receives work direction from one or more Process Technologists.

• To develop and maintain analytical technology expertise

• To be a source of innovative solutions in laboratory operations

• To synthesize components or blend additive packages in support of strategic new product/process development projects including plant trials and process optimization

• To utilize the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) system to plan and record work

• Any additional responsibilities as assigned

A successful candidate is likely to have:

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science (e.g. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering) or experience in a research technician role utilizing analytical chemistry techniques

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills – relationship building / influencing

• Aptitude for IT applications and computer skills (MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Proactive / self-motivated behavior

• Well-developed time management and personal organizational skills

  Preferred skills and knowledge:

• Previous lab and synthesis experience
