Principal Accountabilities

Support Production and Process Engineering to assist in troubleshooting activities. Ensure the first batch of any new Variants product is produced according to the relevant process instruction and meets all the appropriate quality criteria at HPS and tolling site. Work with HPS SC and QA to rollout new products to customers via the HPU Commercial teams. Work with EHS, Quality, Production and Purchasing Departments to introduce new raw materials to the site. Maintain proper product descriptions, recipes, chemical process procedures, and specifications for HPS products. Support to investigate customer product application performance issues, as related to HPS product quality. Work with Process Engineering to improve the process to meet customer’s special requirements.

Special Features

This position coordinates work and support efforts with Product Developers, Technical Service, Shift Supervisors, Production Operators, Process Engineers, QC Lab Technician, QA officer, Tolling site team, Supply Chain planner and Commercial Teams to introduce new products and optimize chemical processes, and good communication and influence skills are essential.

Knowledge / Experience / Skills Needed

This position requires a University degree in organic or polymer chemistry, Master degree in chemistry is preferred.

Knowledge of polymer chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, process chemistry, basic concepts of chemical engineering are required.

The 1-3 years working experience as a Process Chemist or the equivalent is required.

The jobholder must be able to apply analytical and logical thinking in solving problems.

Computer skills and knowledge of statistics are required.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are needed.

Ability to speak English.

Familiar with ISO9001 standard, technical specification for ISO/ITAF16949 and its five core tools, and DOE as well.
