THE POSITION

Lead the process commissioning of projects in close collaboration with the Project Engineer and Automation Engineer, from the signing of the contract until the full completion of the project to be on time on quality and on budget with a customer satisfaction.

Depending on project size, the Process Commissioning Engineer works alone, or in a team with several engineers assigned to the project.

Local Job Title: Process Commissioning Engineer

Number of projects per year: 2-6 projects.

Projects mainly in Greater China, sometimes in APAC.

Travel and commissioning 50% of the time over the year at least.

Fluency in English is mandatory.

The tasks and responsibilities for the role include:

• HSE management

  • Possess a valid HSE management certificate.

  • Meet regulatory safety regulations in force on the site, or established by GEA.

  • Give customer operators or GEA workers the HSE training every site.

  • Evaluate constantly its own safety and the supplier’s safety during commissioning, find hidden dangers and stop it in time.

  • Send HSE report to project engineer every month or every task.

  • Send training report of customer operators or GEA workers to supervisor every task.

• Process commissioning management

  • Ensure project commissioning compliance with customer specifications, functional analysis, GEA norms and commissioning standards.

  • Organize and initiate the implementation of the commissioning project in strict compliance with the budget framework. Seek for budget improvement according the quality and deadlines restrictions.

  • Commissioning preparation, include commissioning manual and operation manual.

  • Follow up the work progresses of APC Cross E&A team, include electrical drawing, electrical cabinet, FDS, automation program, FAT.

  • On-site management, include I/O test, troubleshooting (mechanical, E&A and process), operators training.

  • Preserve GEA interest in the contract on-site with regards to any changes in commissioning.

  • Ensure reporting on the progress of commissioning project to supervisor and project manager every week or every task or every emergency.

  • Ensure handing up final automation program to supervisor every task.

• Effective utilization rate:

  • Ensure filling timesheet in SAP every day.

  • Achieve the utilization rate greater than 85% (Chargeable hours to projects, enquiries or special approved assignments).

• Teamwork and sharing:

  • Participate and contribute to productivity improvement projects, as well as the innovation approach in the commissioning domain, and make these into SOP document.

  • Promote the sharing of skills, ideas and expertise within team and across teams, and share these in newsletter or Common Resource Platform of APAC.

• Individual development and targets review:

  • Make a development plan and be enrolled in at least one training course via the Learning Centre to address any development gaps identified.

  • Monthly meeting of target review with supervisor, ensure to perform at the standard required to meet the job requirements and KPIs.

• People management skills, to be able to instruct customer operators or GEA workers, deal with difficult staffing situations and maintain a productive, joyful but disciplined working environment (ability to explain and teach various skills to both skilled and unskilled workers).

Knowledge / Work experience:

Education

Bachelor degree or above, major in Electrical, Automation, Electromechanical Integration Specialty or related field. Required languages

Good communication skills in Chinese and English (oral and written).

Relevant work experience

Minimum of 3 years of Beverage / Brewery / Health & Personal Care engineering or similar industry experience. Desired Skills

Computer literacy with demonstrated, experience in using Internet, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD.

Mechanical and electrical engineering know-how, able to read and use engineering drawings.

Skillful in one or more fields of Beverage / Brewery / Health & Personal Care industry technology.

Manipulative ability is strong. Skillful in Siemens automation software (S7, WinCC, Portal…) is preferred.
