Job Title: Process Control and Safety System Specialist, Operation & Responsible Care

Report to: Regional Competence Manager

Business Unit: DSM China Limited (DCL)

Location: Shanghai

The Challenge:

The job has a large bandwidth in terms of:

• A strategic component: Gaining support for policies. New developments especially in the China context should be assessed based upon their added value for DSM

• An initiating and stimulating component: Initiating projects and awareness building

• A tactical component: To make things happen.

• A technical component: Proficient in process control knowledge, hardware/software/system architecture
  

The Position:

• Competence development. e.g. by organizing and deliver in house training, on site teaching and coaching to improve the process control competence at manufacturing sites
• Process Control maturity level Assessment, health check, opportunity surveys. e.g. by a flying squad approach, assessment projects are to be started up all over the China plants as to the effective utilization of Process Control technologies.
• Sharing the knowledge and best practice related to process control and functional safety. e.g. by organizing training and workshops, network (Tier 2 China network) and delivering consultancy.
• Compliance effect, e.g. SIS verification
• System architecture, i.e. applying guidelines/policies for allocation of functionality in the different automation layers up to SAP.
• DCS/PLC/MES implementation: scope, solution and quotation challenge. Applying of, and generating feedback on the applicability of guidelines and policies.
• Monitoring external developments; maturity and applicability of tools and instruments to be overviewed, particularly in consultation with local organizations in China.
  

The Ideal:

• Conceptual overview over the full range of process control, also in combination with other disciplines.
• Knowledge of chemical process, batch process
• Knowledge of manufacture management process, system
• Proven experience in opportunity surveys/-assessments.
• Recognized expert, and able to translate business drivers to relevant projects and to sell the technology, create awareness.
• Knowledge of safety aspects.
• Able to translate Process Control Terminology into common language.
• Multi-year experience (>10) in a number of the following application areas: DCS, MES, Process Control, SIL/Cactus

• Hands-on experience in various aspects of Process Control:

• DCS, PLC, fied instrumentation
• MES
• SIS

• Manufex trained
• Appropriate experience on process & operation knowledge, process control relevant.
• Plant improvement experience
• SHE trained
• Consultancy and training skills
