Job Description
This role is to support the successful mobilisation of new projects, this will involve working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver all aspects of the project, in line with the customers’ expectations, on time and to budget, and to ensure seamless transition from mobilisation to daily business. The role will also be responsible for supporting site continuous improvement activities, to improve existing processes and to implement new processes required through mobilisation projects. What are your responsibilities? · Lead the development, deployment and maintenance of BSC processes and equipment / tooling to provide the BSC with a sound foundation for Quality, Cost, Delivery, Resourcing, Ergonomic and Occupational Health & Safety Environment incl. all Human Factor aspects. · Drive the standardisation of maintenance process work instructions and documentation and signatory authority of BSC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) embedded within both VMI's and COI's including definition of Standard Times and 1st line response to process related SRD's and TQ's. · Active support of BSC Production Leaders to ensure that production teams operate at optimum qualiy, efficiency and performance, whilst embracing 5S and Q, H&SE. · Lead the innovation, standardization, planning and evaluation of BSC process technologies with particular focus on process variation minimization and optimized process capability and repeatability. Design out risk of Human Factor errors. · Develop and monitor departmental standards, procedures, objectives, and targets · Develop and implement new process engineering packages and tools · Develop process engineering solutions for projects from quotations through to commissioning · Complete and take responsibility for accurate costing of all process engineering elements of a project in conjunction with the facilities team Support the creation / development and management of risk logs for each mobilisation project to ensure all risks are understood and mitigated. Create / develop production processes as required e.g. SOPs etc. Ensure all mobilisation project tasks and milestones are accomplished by working with cross-functional project team/s. Provide detailed mobilisation updates to the business as required. Build and maintain successful stakeholder relationships. Support and drive best practice for all mobilisations in Siemens Mobility. · Support the Mobilisation Manager in completing the following for all mobilisations; · Documentation · Materials requirements · New plant and tooling requirements · Resource requirements · Overhaul planning requirements · Third party overhaul requirements · Transactional requirements · Quality requirements · Project management / communications requirements · Commercial requirements · Float requirements · Lead the development of the lean journey for the facility, create road map for lean implementation. · Lead the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working. · Identify trends and process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement monitoring system. · Lead the development and implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement strategy. · Take ownership of change initiatives from evolution / efficiency identification through to project delivery via internal governance and controls. What do you need to qualify for the role? Essential: · Experience in technical manufacturing in a process engineering role. · Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes. · Good analytical and problem-solving ability, comfortable with both big picture and detail as the need arises. · Understand the competitive market and the importance of delivery of excellent customer · service. · Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and Safety Management Systems. · Good interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience of team management to motivate and lead by example. · Good communication skills both oral and written. · Experience working in matrix organisations, with cross functional groups. Preferred: · Evidence of project management experience, leading the delivery of projects to completion. · Educated to Degree level or Diploma or demonstrates equivalent experience. · Knowledge of railway business and operating requirements, including rolling stock technical aspects / practices, and Railway Group Standards. · Chartered Engineer with membership of a senior Engineering Institution. · A further qualification in project management (MSc) or business studies (MBA), with · Membership of the Association of Project Management (APMP) or Institute of Project Managers. · Familiarity with Siemens project management processes and procedures.
