Summary of Position:

This role main responsibility is to calculate and monitor chemical plant yield/mass balance.  Also, the role will learn the assigned process area to provide support on the evaluation and implemention of process and/or systems optimization for yields, plant throughput, quality and cost reduction.  The position participates providing Engineering and Technical support in the assigned process area to assure validations are current and process deviations are properly investigated.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Maintains a mass balance program for assigned unit showing plant performance that can identify unit operations requiring attention to assure plant yield and volume commitments sharing findings with internal and external customers.

-Responsible for managing process changes, process improvement projects, investigations, failure mode and effect analysis, annual report data gathering, instrument/equipment classification, and other quality/safety system requirements in the assigned processes.

-Coordinates the revision/approval of relevant MBR's, SOP's, PCD's as well of other manufacturing related documentation.

-Coordinates activities with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Safety and Quality departments to support the manufacturing process.

-Coordinates the design and implementation of process improvement projects for the assigned area and prepares relevant documentation changes, including the ones associated to validation.

-Provides training to production operators in the utilization of process equipment and the correct ways of performing the required tasks to assure process consistency and expected performance.

-Support the operations with area Manager/Supervisor to assure are carried out in a manner that assures product consistency, quality and adequate performance.

-Responsible for the documentation coordination related to quality/safety to supporting any investigation and/or troubleshooting in the assigned process areas.

-Adherence to plant safety, environmental and GMP regulations.

Qualifications:

  Language: Fully Bilingual - written and spoken English & Spanish

  Regulation: Basic cGMP knowledge

Technical Qualification & Other Background:

-Computer literature (Word, Excel, Power Point)

-Knowledgeable in chemical processes and equipment ((Chemical Plants)

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

-Ability to understand technical drawings

-Knowledge of sampling techniques

Education & Experience:

Barchelor Degree in Engineering or Related Field

Zero (0) to one (1) year experience
