You will be part of the Engineering department driving effective Process Management, continuous improvement and provide engineering / technical support for manufacturing operations. Our Healthcare Diagnostics business is based at our site in Sudbury, Suffolk. Recently celebrating 80 years of manufacturing excellence, our Sudbury site designs and assembles blood, urine and diabetes analysis instruments. As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for: To be part of an Engineering department driving effective Process Management, and continuous improvement with regards to, but not exclusively the following: - To repair in a timely manner manufacturing and process equipment - To Control repairs on Electronic Device History record system and maintenance systems. - Deliver rapid response, to asset availability in line with the expectations of manufacturing operations. - Ensure all processes are available to Production Operations as and when desired. - Deliver rapid response, to asset availability in line with the expectations of Manufacturing Operations. - Report Process uptime including breakdowns and ensure reaction and countermeasures are in place at the first attempt where possible (Permanent corrective action) Manufacturing support: - To fault find, repair and make available all non-conforming product identified during manufacturing verification processes. - Evaluate returned out of box failures / investigations and provide engineering documentation. - To support the introduction of all new instruments, processes and equipment. - Support Lean / Kaizen events Manufacturing Processes: - Process uptime control and monitoring (FTPR, OEE, MTTR / MTTF etc.) - Complete daily / monthly / weekly / yearly maintenance and calibration. - Use MTTF (mean time to failure), MTTR (mean time to repair) and OEE as methods of identifying poorly performing assets and mitigate risk through introducing/modifying preventative actions. Use of manufacturing tools: - Effective use of CAPA / IR - TPM implementation of both FLM (First Line Maintenance) and PM (Preventative Maintenance). - Use of SAP, e-DHR and database application - Create deviations - Lead risk / pFMEA assessments Manufacturing documentation: - Document control process - Review and update process procedures as required. - Review and update maintenance and calibration procedures as required. Individual contribution: - Work with cross functional teams - Support SQDIP process - Support 5S process - Comply with site EHS policy Manufacturing systems: - Effective use of CERDAAC - Effective use of Sprint - Effective use of MAPS - Effective use of Documentum "Manufacturing Systems: - Effective use of Agility Projects and other tasks: - Write detailed engineering studies - Effectively manage Projects through to completion using the appropriate tools. - Complete verification runs for new products - Process improvement - Write and execute validation documentation Required skills to have for the success of this role Experience in fast paced manufacturing environment Experience of 5S / Lean / Kaizen events Fault finding experience TPM / maintenance & calibration experience Knowledge of Microsoft office Knowledge of Engineering principles Experience in delivering new products and processes desirable Being part of our team Based on multiple sites in Chilton Industrial Estate, Sudbury, we design and assemble blood, urine and diabetes analysis instruments.
