The Lokelma Supply Site (LSS) has recently remodeled office space to provide a pleasant office environment to support varying work styles and collaboration needs. LSS has an on-site cafe with a selection of snacks and refrigerated grab and go items for purchase. Additionally, the site offers a food delivery service, allowing employees to purchase food from a variety of local restaurants to be delivered to the site, which currently includes a discounted price for LSS employees.

The Process Engineer-Shift role is responsible for providing on-shift technical support for manufacturing and act as authority for process operations and equipment. Responsibilities will include practical problem solving, initiating and leading root cause investigations, providing technical support to operations team while advancing when needed, act as operations liaison with engineering team, actively recommend and execute process improvement and simplification ideas and projects, update operational documents, and monitor and diagnose process health through data and take action for quick response to prevent process disruption

This is a shift position working 7pm – 7am (work every other weekend)

What you’ll do:

  • Become a specialist on the process and equipment to successfully troubleshoot and provide guidance to operations.
  • Identify and execute projects to increase safety, reduce product cost, improve product quality, improve yield, reduce process complexity, generate standard work documents, reduce waste, and reduce material usage.
  • Work on several different projects and be able to prioritize these projects.
  • Author, update, review, and approve area procedures and master batch records to ensure accurate content and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices. Write study proposals, progress reports, development reports, and various technical memo’s.
  • Draft, lead, and execute change management via change controls and design studies, executes experiments and perform data analysis.
  • Lead and Investigate deviations from standards of manufacturing process using effective root cause analysis tools and recommend and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Generate, evaluate, and implement innovative and creative solutions, participate in equipment FAT’s, SAT’s, IQ, OQ, PQ as necessary and participate in Quality Risk Assessments and process hazards analysis activities.
  • Continuously monitor process health via process data and recognize warnings and take action to mitigate potential problems. Take charge and lead operational shift members in following company standards for problem solving and provide training to operators on process and documentation changes.

Essential for the role:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or other related technical subject area.
  • Capability of working 12-hour shifts and every other weekend. Night shift engineer capable of working nights.
  • Ability to read P&ID’s, Process Flow Diagrams, and perform mass and energy balances and able to demonstrate technical capabilities using logical thought processes to analyze information and draw conclusions.
  • Proven leadership and accountability for technical issues on shift and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Desirable:

  • Experience with pressure filter dryer technology and root cause investigations.
  • Lean certification or experience with lean concepts.
  • Experience with Minitab and/or trackwise.
