Purpose of the Position:

 

Regional CLS division subject matter expert for surface treatment, surface modification and specialty coatings of Corning Life Sciences products. Technical support for Division-wide or multi-plant chemical process projects, with a primary focus in Asia. Technical support in the application of Statistical Methods and Process Control. Maintain knowledge base of the latest technologies within the manufacturing industry, while supporting the consistent application of new technology and best practices. Provide input to Resin Council regarding the needs of regional plants. Ensures Corning’s Intellectual Property management process is followed, and any intellectual property developed is properly documented.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Subject Matter Expert for surface treatment, surface modification and specialty coatings of plastic parts and permeable membranes.

• Reginal technology receiver of surface treatment and coating processes (including local knowledge management, establishing ongoing support structure, and development of validation protocols to be executed by plant engineering).

• Use of statistical methods for product and process analysis.

• Leader of process control and process discipline implementation.

• Process development on new products and processes as they transition into production.

• Support of Division Quality’s Division wide Validation Strategy by developing validation protocols to be executed by plant engineering.

• Drives fundamental understanding and problem solving skills, including working closely with vendors and plant engineering to resolve manufacturing challenges.

• Ensures compliance to all plant and division standards. • Uses rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps.

• Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects.
