Engineering Department within ACTC (Advanced Composite Technology Center) is responsible for process development and validation, material characterization and testing.

The key advanced processes that ACTC is working on are: HP-RTM (High Pressure Resin Transfer Molding), WCM (Wet Compression Molding), CF-SMC (Carbon Fiber Sheet Molding Compound), PCM (Prepreg Compression Molding) and carbon fiber thermoplastic process.

Main responsibilities

• Utilize the matured SMC formulation to conduct small series trials of SMC material;
• Work with material suppliers to develop new SMC formulation and conduct small series trials;
• Support process team to manufacture products with SMC materials (ACTC produced or purchased);
• Compile technical reports and handle related technical documents, like Working Instruction, Lesson Learned and etc;
• Present trial reports within the project team or publically;
• Take the job-related tasks assigned by the management.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Composite Engineering, Polymer Material Engineering (Master degree or above is preferable);
• At least 2-years-experience in SMC material production (Hands-on working experience in SMC material production line is preferable);

• Have an intermediate to advanced level of practice in controlled production of SMC materials systems (Epoxy based or Vinyl Ester based) and maintaining & operating the related equipment;
• Have an advanced understanding in the science and engineering of the SMC material production, processing, and the performance properties;
• Have an intermediate level of practice in data management & statistical process control;
• Have basic skills of AutoCAD, CATIA to read the drawing and analyse the product;

• Project experience with automotive industry is preferable;
• Good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills;
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), be able to discuss technical issues with foreigners through e-mail and conference call.
