Position Summary:

Reporting through operations, this role is the production manufacturing expert that enables the most efficient processes through available systems, such as process improvement events and process development. Developing a better understanding of world class manufacturing processes within the facility to enable an optimised flow of product through the relentless pursuit of efficiency, resulting in higher availability, yield and a reduction in waste. This is a new position which has been created to support our growing business so there is scope for expanding the role in the future.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Drives a safety-first culture in all aspects of the role, leading by example and setting standards for process and engagement. Creates and maintains a safe work environment, and a high level of safety awareness among the operations teams and beyond.
  • Use lean principles to review production process flow to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Improve, design and develop effective and efficient work instructions ensuring , world class standards and process documents (SOPs) and ensure they are correct and understood by team members
  • Work with key stakeholders and our teams to continually improve the existing operation for increased quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings.
  • Partner with manufacturing sciences to investigate operational challenges affecting production; through to the implementation of effective solutions.
  • Provide manufacturing data to support teams in resolving issues without affecting productivity. Provide data on production control charts, reliability and process capability to improve the process and monitor and measure utilising process improvement tools such as Six Sigma and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Identify ways to reduce production costs through recommendations – e.g. new process equipment, equipment justification to improve performance, utilising the approved change control and capital expenditure processes
  • Work with the engineering team to manage equipment development, including effective planned preventative maintenance by the operations teams
  • Support the sites training plans where required and drive the quality culture
  • Supporting the production team leaders to ensure key performance indicators are relevant, updated and used to make improvement decisions.
  • Working with the Continuous Improvement Manager to ensure that the site goals and global PPI (Practical Process Improvement) programs are met.
 

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Experienced Process Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of GMP
  • Drive for Results - High level of technical and leadership skills and the ability to train/coach others.
  • Proven track record in improving Right First Time, controlling cost and reduction of waste
  • Problem Solving -Effective in technical and organisational troubleshooting to root cause.
